Pork Fried Coleslaw

Pork fried coleslaw.

Why This Recipe?

Chef John's Egg Roll in a Bowl is absolutely delicious, but I've made some tweaks over time. I personally love the taste of fried cabbage. The ingredients here last a ridiculously long time if stored properly and they're all extremely cheap. Compared to instant ramen, it's only a little more expensive, takes about as long, and tastes way better.

  1. Add all sauce ingredients into a jar and shake well to combine.
  2. Julienne cabbage and carrot.
  3. Add ground pork to a large skillet and sauté over medium heat until well browned.
  4. Add the vegetables and garlic and toss to combine.
  5. Cook, stirring for about 2 minutes, just until the vegetables start to soften.
  6. Stir in the sauce and cook until evenly coated and vegetables are at desired tenderness.
  7. Add some chopped green onion for presentation (optional).
